Pearl Alweny is both a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and Family nurse practioner. She is multi-lingual, cultural, and prides herself in giving culturally competent care personalized to each individual. She has extensive experience in Family medicine which is a crucial element in ruling out medical related problems that may imitate psychiatric symptoms. Competent in treating emergency psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, integration psychiatry in primary care and acute care settings. Highly competent at managing complex patients with co-occurring disorders / dual diagnoses, multiple medical comorbidities and trauma care. She specializes in clinical psychopharmacology and provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual therapy by using an innovative and integrative approach to mental illness. She maintains a strong interest in mind-body and nutritional medicine and exercise. During her leisure time she enjoys traveling, philanthropy, and reading.

Board Certification is a process by which trainees in a given medical discipline are evaluated for their level of competence, and continually re-evaluated throughout their lifetime. Perhaps nowhere is board certification more critical than a field such as psychiatry, in which masters in the field attest to the expertise of their peers.
